Our Story

Black and white photo of a historic commercial building on a street corner in Newport, California, with vintage cars parked and pedestrians walking.

Doryman’s Oceanfront Inn is rooted in the history of Newport Beach. Originally built in the early 1900s as a bunkhouse for local fishermen, the building stands just steps from the Dory Fishing Fleet—a coastal tradition still alive today.

By the 1980s, the building had fallen into disrepair. A thoughtful renovation transformed it into the elegant, Victorian-inspired inn it is now, blending historic charm with modern comfort. Each of our 11 uniquely appointed rooms features antique furnishings, marble tubs, and ocean views that connect guests to both the past and the Pacific.

Located just across from the Newport Pier, the inn also shares space with the renowned 21 Oceanfront Restaurant, offering fine dining in a timeless setting.

Today, Doryman’s Oceanfront Inn is a peaceful retreat where history, hospitality, and the ocean come together.
